The 2014 Honeymoon Bay Pot Lick Dimmer
December 15, 2014
The 2014 annual Honeymoon Bay "Pot Lick Dimmer", yes that's what they call it, was another huge success. After two days of preparation by a load of volunteers, 6 turkeys, 4 hams and every vegetable known to man was lovingly prepared to feed the 181 people who attended. It's too bad Santa Clause was so busy with his preparations for Christmas because he had to miss the meal, although with the help of the Honeymoon Bay Fire Department he was able to come and visit with all the kids and give them a present. |

2014 Lake Cowichan Remembrance Day Ceremony
November 11, 2014
In a year that saw two military men murdered on Canadian soil and the Harper government cutting funding and support to veterans and their associations a larger than usual number of residents came out to the service at the cenotaph in Central Park. It was a cool Crisp morning with little cloud cover. A band played O'Canada and God save the Queen as cadets stood guard at the cenotaph. For the first time in a few years a Trumpeter played taps. Families and officials laid their wreaths in an act of remembrance to the men and women fought and died for our freedoms. |

Hey everyone loves a parade! |
