Not just made for TV movies are filmed here in the Valley. In the past larger budget movies like 1994's "Little Women" in Cobble Hill and from 1999 "Lake Placid" filmed in
Shawnigan Lake.
Commercials, and TV series have
also been shot here.
The recently closed "Bay Studios", in Maple Bay, had helped facilitate
productions and produced TV series programming of its own.
Local celebrity, film director Boon Collins has done a number of films in the valley.
The sequel to his first film "Abducted" , "Abducted II' shot in 1994, and in 2004
the campy "Sleepover Nightmare"
was filmed on former Irish Rover Wil Millar's
North Cowichan property.
